Weaver Vansant/Vanzant

DNA testing has proven that descendants of WEAVER VANSANT (ca 1800-1850) are part of the Gerret Stoffelse van Sand line associated with Bucks County, PA. The problem is that after years of intense searching, Weaver's parents have not been identified. The earliest record located for Weaver is in Middletown Twp., Bucks Co. where he is shown as parent of Allen on the Poor Children's List from 1829 to 1831. In 1830 Weaver and family were in Middletown according to the census but by 1834 they were living in Bensalem Twp.

In 1840-41, Weaver was living in the adjacent county of Montgomery where he was again on the Poor Children's List as parent of Thomas. From 1843 through 1850 he is on Tax Lists for Falls Twp., but for the 1850 census he was living across the Delaware River in Mansfield, Burlington County, NJ in the household of his son Thomas. It is believed that Weaver died shortly after the census. However, no records have been found for his death, burial, birth, baptism, or for either of his two marriages. He is referenced on numerous marriage and death records associated with his children. They include Allen and Thomas by his first union with ANN MITCHNER/MICHENER. Daughter Margaretta and son William Heston could be from either of his wives both named Ann. Later children are attributed to his second wife, ANN IVINS who died in 1849. Children by Ann Ivins include: John, Jayletts, Mary B., and Garrett. Suspected children of Weaver include Benjamin B. (b 1843), Mary Elizabeth (b 1832) married to Jesse Vanhart, Rebecca (b 1835), and Sarah (b 1829) married to Stacy Hepburn.

Any information about Weaver would be greatly appreciated.
